During the creation in City of Villains. I obviously
made a major change making him a her. I added a
missing arm that she replaced with a cybernetic arm.
In the 90's I had seen an episode of Batman where
he had a Mechanic help him. That sparked my
imagination making Mechanic from the hard streets of
Detroit. One of the things I was able to add from City
of Heroes to Champions was her power vest. This is
where she pretty much stores her gadgets. Whats
funny is fixer pretty much took my idea with all the
satellite, claw and pincher's. I had that idea way back
in the 80's.
A QUICK ORIGIN OF Mechanic
Adriana M Rizzo was born in Chicago. Died during
child birth. Her father taught her everything about
vehicles. To her this wasn't enough. She was sent to
MIT at the age of 16 and was one of the brightest
students there. This all changed when she found out
her father was missing. Days later he was found
dead. Full of rage and no place to turn to a friend of
her fathers showed up and told her his secret. He
was part of the Sicilian Mafia. The Yakuza wanted to
take over Chicago and Adriana father was in the way.
Using her knowledge she produced a handful of
Pulse Guns and supped up several trucks. They
stormed the Yakuza's hideout. Adriana personally
shot there leader. Adriana took the street name
Mechanic and in a very short time took over being
Boss of Detroit.
Mechanic's Powers
Mechanic has a number of gadgets that she can use
if she is confronted. Most come from her Power Vest.
These range from EMP grenades to miniature
robots. The Power Vest can also generate a
localized magnetic field and absorb energy to protect
her from bullets and energy weapons. It also can
help her with routine jobs with its 2 appendages that
can come out of her vest back. She also carries a
Pulse Uzi that does far more damage then her other
Pulse Weapons.
Her arm and leg have been replaced with cybernetic
parts. Its unknown how this happened but she has
been able to flip a truck over with the one arm. So its
guesstimated that she can lift about 10 tons.
