Moonbase One I have had since the late 80's.
Before Marvel ever used it for Magneto's base of
operations. I have always used it as the last great
human hope in the future RPG's. Humans were
brought into the war against the Mechanation.
Originally this was were the Galaxy Defense Force
main base was. Which included a army of Humans
that flew ships
It was tough picking what moon was gonna be
Moonbase One. I didn't have the exact planet picked
out so I Jumped between Jupiter and Saturn. I finally
settled on Europa.
A QUICK ORIGIN OF Moonbase One
The first race called by many races, The Ancients,
had explored the galaxy and found they were the only
sentient race. At one point in time. They added
there DNA to worlds through out the galaxy. Causing
sentient life to form on many worlds. For the most
part The Ancients looked human. Which is why most
aliens have a Human like appearance.
At some point in time The Ancients left. It is not
known the exact reason why they left. They left clues
with every race. The closest earthly interpretation is
Shangra-la. There have been many interpretations
to this and no one knows the exact reason why they
left. The Ancients did not leave without leaving
details about themselves. They left hollowed out
moons scattered across the galaxy. Moon Base One
was one of them.
Something happened to cause the computer brain
not to launch. It launched several thousand years
later. It did not have coordinates and was forced to
search for it for thousands of years. Upon finding
Moon Base One which was the a moon of the 5th
planet of Earths solar system, the ship was damaged
by a meteor colliding with it and damaging the
hyperdrive engine. Which caused it to crash on
Earth. The computer needing to fullfill its
programming merge with a human. Thanks to the
human, Manchine, the computer was able to fullfill its
programming and now is downloaded into Moonbase
One.
