Where to start. The origins of the Global Defense
Force were started back in the late 80's. The exact
date I can't really tell you. I know it was before 1990.
Other then Machine Teen, Mister Miracle, and Animal
Teen I don't really remember who was in the original
group.
I originally had called them the Confederate
Avengers. I had called them this for a long time until
about 2000. I got asked one day from someone in
my group of friends about why I was racist? I was
surprised by this. I wasn't trying to be racist or
anything. I was just having a group of heroes that
would handle the southern states. After the initial
shock of it was over and me and my friend had
talked. I understood what he was trying to get at.
Confederate wasn't seen in a positive light among the
black community. After a short brief period the name
got changed to my oldest friends super group that
didn't play any more.
The name was changed to The Colonial Avengers.
This lasted for a few years. When City of Heroes
came out. I didn't want to take any chances in getting
in trouble using Avengers. Since the group was
taken from the old Marvel RPG and they had all there
ties to the Marvel comics. I came up with a
completely new name.
Thats how the Global Defense Force was born.
Often the name is shortened to GDF.
A QUICK ORIGIN OF Global
Defense Force
The Global Defense Force was started by Manchine
to handle threats as a group of heroes. These
threats were to big for any one Hero to handle. This
also allows the group to rely of people that also might
be better equipped to handle certain situations.
The founding members are Manchine, Animal Teen,
Sonic Soldier, White Knight, and Siege. These
Heroes came together during the Great Invasion and
have stuck together since then.
Shortly after the formation of the GDF other members
joining the ranks which include, Earth Lord, Texas,
Talon, Talon Hawk, Delta Bot, Wings, Aqua,
Novastar, U.S. Archer, Kinetic Kid, Electric Marshal,
Light Bow, and Rocker.
The Global Defense Force uses Moonbase One as
there main base of operations. Which Manchine
allows the members to use.
