is a character a friend of mine made about 15 years
ago. This character has undergone some major
changes. First off was a sex change. The original
was pretty much a male Marvel Girl. Instead I made
her a female and made her powers around fire
The costume got a little redesign. I kept the gloves
and boots the same folded over look. I kept the
jeweled belt and a bandana that she had.
A QUICK ORIGIN OF Novastar
Marcena was just a normal College student working
as a waitress to make some extra money. She was
dealing with a very rude customer that day and was
biting her tongue. Finally the rude customer yelled at
her a final time and she burst into flames. She
screamed as the whole resturant burst into flames.
She could see several other people had burst into
flames. Everything was on fire around her. Even her
own clothes she didn't feel anything though. The
next minutes where a blur but a fireman pulled her
out of the building. She looked back at the building in
shock. The medics were treating her for her wounds
when they saw she had none. At that point in time
she knew she was the one who caused the fire. She
was placed in solitary confinement in jail.
Days later she was released in the care of the
American government. She was a recruit of The
League and they were gonna help her control her
power. She had vowed to herself to atone for the
pain she had caused because it was all her fault.
Phoenix Firestorm Powers
Her primary power is the ability to envelop his entire
body in fire without harm to herself, in which form she
is able to fly and to generate powerful streams and/or
'balls' of fire. She can also manipulate her flame in
such a way as to shape it into rings, cages, etc. Even
when not engulfed in flame herself she can only
manipulate fire within her immediate range of vision,
causing it to increase or decrease in intensity or to
move in a pattern directed by her thoughts.
Additionally, he is able to absorb fire into her self with
no detrimental effects.
By pushing flame out of her feet she is able to fly at
about 75 miles an hour. The firey field immediately
surrounding her body is sufficiently hot to vaporize
projectiles that approach her, including but not limited
to bullets. He does not generally extend this
flame-aura beyond a few inches from his skin, so as
not to ignite objects (or persons) in proximity to him.
Phoenix Firestorms ability to ignite herself and other
objects is limited by the quantity of oxygen in his
environment and flames have been extinguished by
sufficient quantities of water, flame retardant foam,
and vacuum environments. She will be able to
re-ignite instantly once oxygen is returned, with no ill
effects. Marcena has shown the ability to detect heat
signatures (infra-red vision).
